Chip Terhune, CEO of the state-chartered comp carrier, reportedly said on Facebook that three bullets were fired through the windows on his front door at about 4 a.m. Friday.

A neighbor reported seeing a person dressed in black and wearing a ski mask run away from the house.

The publication said there is no evidence of why someone shot at Terhune's home, but the event echoes the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in December.

Terhune served as chief of staff for former Oregon Gov. Ted Kulongoski, who was in office from 2003 to 2011. He was also an assistant executive director of the Oregon Educational Association. He succeeded Kerry Barnett as president and CEO on July 1, 2021.
