Mr. Culpepper is a Supervising Partner with Michael Sullivan & Associates and represents self-insured employers, third-party administrators, corporations and public entities in all aspects of workers’ compensation. He serves as liaison with Senior Management to implement the firm’s goals. He also supervises and mentors junior attorneys. Before to his most recent promotion, Mr. Culpepper was an Associate, then Senior Attorney for the firm.
Currently, Mr. Culpepper serves as the Board President of the African American Workers’ Compensation Professionals Organization (AAWCP) which was recently organized to support and promote the professional development and advancement of African American/Black Workers’ Compensation professionals.
Before joining Michael Sullivan & Associates, Mr. Culpepper was Associate and Claim Counsel for Bencivenga & Associates in Diamond Bar, CA, where he served as Staff Counsel for Travelers Indemnity Co.
Mr. Culpepper received his Juris Doctor from the University of San Francisco School of Law, where he was a member of the Criminal Law Society and the Business Law and La Raza Law Students associations. He served as the Chapter President for the Black Law Students Association (BLSA) and served on the National Black Law Students’ Association (NBLSA) Regional Board. He was a Certified Law Student for the school’s Child Advocacy Clinic, representing minors removed from parental care by the San Francisco Human Services Agency and dependency courts. He also spent a summer as Law Clerk for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Hardcore Gang Unit. Mr. Culpepper received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, where he is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated, the oldest intercollegiate fraternity for African Americans.
