William L. “Bill” Smith II is a founding partner of Chappell, Smith & Arden. He has concentrated his practice on representing injured workers for thirty-five years. Bill graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1984. He currently serves as President of the Workers’ Injury Law and Advocacy Group (WILG) and is a Fellow of the College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers. Bill has also served as President of Injured Workers’ Advocates in South Carolina. He has chaired the Workers’ Compensation Section of the SC Bar as well as serving as an officer of the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Educational Association and Kids Chance of South Carolina. Bill served several terms as the Claimant representative on the Governor’s Advisory Committee for the Improvement of Workers’ Compensation Laws having been appointed by the Honorable Mark Sanford and the Honorable Nikki Haley. Bill also serves on the Commission for Lawyer Conduct as appointed by the SC Supreme Court.
