Dr. Ramsey Ali, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, PTSD Clinical Lead, Institutes of Health
Dr. Ali is a lead clinical psychologist at Institutes of Health, where he specializes in the treatment of complex PTSD. In addition to treating patients, he is engaged in the Institute's clinical transdisciplinary community facilitating team meetings, and program-related development, supervising pre-licensed clinicians, assessing proper diagnoses of patients, leading individual and group treatment, and outdoor exposure planning. Dr. Ali is certified in the trauma modality Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). Moreover, he is fully trained and utilizes other evidence-based trauma modalities, including Prolonged Exposure (PE) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Before joining IOH, Dr. Ali was a postdoctoral resident at the San Diego VA in the residential PTSD clinic, Aspire Center. Dr. Ali has extensive experience working in hospital settings focusing on PTSD, chronic pain, and substance use. Dr. Ali has several publications, including co-authoring a book chapter on treating the comorbidity of psychiatric disorders and chronic pain.
